I was raised right here in Bellows Falls and In 2001 I left my home in Vermont in pursuit of a goal I was unaware of. I spent six years in the Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. During my time in the military I realized that my heart was with children. Every chance I got to volunteer or work with children I would jump at the opportunity. It was after six years in the military that I realized that I wanted to pursue a career of teaching.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina Beaufort. While I was in South Carolina I taught for over 3 years teaching second grade. When I returned to Vermont I took a position working with 3 and 4 year olds at the Westminster Head Start. I have a personal philosophy that educators should not only strive to instruct the minds of students, but should also help support all areas of student development such as social, emotional, physical, behavioral and intellectual development. On a personal level, In 2006 I married my husband, Trevor and in 2014 we welcomed our daughter Caitlyn. We live here in Bellows Falls with our dog Buddy. I enjoy being outdoors, running, quilting, crafting and spending time with my family. Some of my favorites include; the color purple, York peppermint patties, chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies and chick flicks. Most importantly, I love teaching and making a difference! I am looking forward to giving back to the community that helped raise me. |
