Dear Parents and Friends,
Good Afternoon!!  We hope all of you enjoyed another great weather weekend! We believe the cold weather will soon be upon us, so remember to add layers of clothing to your child each day.
This week we will continue with our theme, Head to Toe. We will be concentrating on the Five Senses…. Hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting and touching.  This is a fun week for us.  We love to listen to all of the student’s observations and experiences about each of our senses.
KinderRoo will be  bringing the letters Rr, Bb and Ff.  Today KinderRoo was under the Red Rug tied in a Rope and there were ROCKS all over the hallway!  Be sure to ask your child how Ridiculous that was! For homework this week we will be reading A Nature Walk.  Please be sure to sign the homework slip each night for your child.  Students are working very hard at pointing to each word as they read. We are so impressed with their efforts!
In Math, we will continue to be counting AND comparing numbers.  We will also begin to compare quantities of numbers.  This will be a new concept for most, but with practice, one that will be mastered easily!
This Friday, Central Elementary will be walking to Our Place Food Shelf to deliver the food that we have collected.  If you have any extra canned goods at home that you would be willing to donate to our food drive, please send them to school sometime this week.  We will be walking to Our Place at 1:00 to deliver all of the food we have collected.  Thank you in advance for your contribution.
Next Tuesday, October 31st, Central Elementary School will have our annual Halloween Parade.  Our parade begins at 1:30 on George Street.  Students will bring their costumes to school.  Please do NOT send your child to school in their costume.  The Kindergarteners will begin getting dressed in their costumes about 1:00.  If you would like to come to our rooms and help your child, and others get into their costumes, you are more than welcome.  We will also be having a Halloween party right after this amazing event.  You are also more than welcome to join us!
A huge Thank you for all of you  that have donated snacks to our classrooms.  They are SO greatly appreciated.
Have a Great Week!
