Happy Monday! We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and are ready for another busy week in Kindergarten. Last week was quite eventful for us in kindergarten. Our new playground is OPEN and we were able to enjoy it for the first time on Friday! Wow, did the children have a grand time!! It was amazing to see all the things that can be done on that playground! We also walked to Our Place and delivered all of the non-perishable food items that you so generously sent in. THANK YOU!!!
This week, we will begin a new two week theme, Cornucopia. We will be concentrating on the four seasons and all of the changes that take place with people animals and plants. This unit really engages the children and they always have great insights to the gradual changes that occur.
KinderRoo will be bringing the letters Ee. Ll and Hh. Today KinderRoo tossed Easter Eggs ALL over the hallway!! For homework this week we will be reading My Pumpkin. Thank you for continuing to sign the homework slip each night. Reading at home is definitely making a difference!!
This Tuesday, October 31st, we will have our annual Halloween Parade. Our parade begins at 1:30. Please send your child to school with their costume. We will be getting dressed in our classroom. If you would like to come to our rooms and help children get into their costumes, feel free - about 1:00. Our Halloween party will be right after the parade. You are more than welcome to join us! A huge thank you to those who signed up to bring in goodies for this event!
This Wednesday, November 1st will be our monthly Walk to School Day. We will meet at 7:25 at the Hetty Green Park, across from the Middle School, to walk to school as a group. We are hoping that Kindergarten has the largest number of walkers so that we can win the Golden Sneaker Award and display it for the month in front of our classrooms.
Next Thursday, November 9th will be picture re-take day! Also, The PTO will be meeting at Central School at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to attend!
Just a Reminder…. Please don’t forget to move your clocks BACK one hour next Sunday, November 5th for DayLight Savings Time!
Have a Great Week!
